Forager and naturalist, Eric Knight, will present an overview of his new book, Foraging Texas: Finding, Identifying, and Preparing Edible Wild Foods in Texas, that he co-wrote with his wife, Stacy Coplin. The talk will cover the book writing experience/making of, how to use and get the most out of the book, and will highlight some of his favorite species accounts in more detail. After the talk, there will be a book signing.

Registrants have the opportunity to register separately for one of two short foraging walks held later that day at the Tandy Hills Natural Area; these walks are for book talk attendees only and space is limited.

Eric M. Knight and Stacy M. Coplin run Local Leaf LLC, where they sustainably wild-harvest, process, and sell Yaupon Matcha. Eric is an environmental engineer and teaches edible/medicinal plant classes at Earth Native Wilderness School, UT’s Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, and through his own business, as well as custom edible plant classes.
