Bob Byers learned to love gardening and plants working beside his parents in family gardens as a child. After college, he worked professionally as a landscape architect in Wisconsin, Florida, Alabama, and Arkansas before a 21-year career as the Director of Operations and Associate Executive Director for Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Bob served as the Director of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden for over 5 years and now serves as Executive Vice President of the newly merged non-profit Fort Worth Botanic Garden | Botanical Research Institute of Texas. He discovered the art of pysanky while planning educational events in Hot Springs and has now been writing eggs for 15 years. He also enjoys growing vegetables and flowers in his home garden in Willow Park and learning the large and varied flora of Texas on long walks with his dogs.
