About the Book In Louisiana, the Asteraceae is one of the most abundant herbaceous families in the flora. It is also the largest family represented by more than 340 species distributed among 101 genera. These 101 genera belong to 10 tribes in the Asteroideae (excluding the Arctotideae, Calenduleae, and Liabeae), and the only tribe in the Cichorioideae.
